Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design and conduct studies that investigate both human diseases and methods to prevent and treat them.
• Prepare and analyze medical samples and data to investigate causes and treatment of toxicity, pathogens, or chronic diseases.
• Create and test medical devices
• Follow procedures to avoid contamination and maintain safety.
• Write research grant proposals and apply for funding from the government agencies and private funding sources

Salary: Annual wage for medical scientist was $82,240 in May 2015.

Education: Bachelors degree in biology, chemistry or a related field. PhD, Dual degree programs, M.D, D.D.S and etc

Demand for this Profession: Are needed to research related to treating diseases.
